Chatur Zala
Treasurer
Zala is the Treasurer of the Crow FM Board and a proud Wondai resident, having moved here with his family in 2020. He is deeply committed to supporting community-driven initiatives like Crow FM, recognising the vital role local media plays in connecting and strengthening regional communities.
With over fourteen years of leadership experience at the Cherbourg Aboriginal Shire Council—including five years as Chief Executive Officer—Zala brings a wealth of knowledge in governance, financial management, and regional development to his role at Crow FM. His insight into the challenges and opportunities facing rural and Indigenous communities makes him a valuable contributor to the station’s vision and sustainability.
Zala holds a Master of Accounting and has been recognised with industry honours including the 2018 LGFP Finance Person of the Year and the 2021 LGMA Manager of the Year. His passion for building a safer, more liveable South Burnett—through increased tourism, sporting opportunities, and strong community engagement—is reflected in his active involvement with Crow FM.
